Sentimental Stitches

One thing you probably don't know about me is that, I kept my hair in dreadlocks for 3 long years. While girls my age had their 'do rebonded, I had mine knotted into a flamboyant rasta locks. Everybody thought I was crazy, rebellious, doped... For me it was just as simple as self expression...turning myself away from vanity and what not. I engaged myself into daring sports like mountain climbing, surfing, urban adventure racing while my friends work up a sweat partying in the hottest clubs in town. I really didn't mind being the odd girl. I thought I was being cool and that I was living my life to the fullest than most people do. I was a renegade by heart...or so I thought.

Then two years ago I met someone who changed my whole perspective about life....that you can still live up to your ideals and be polished and presentable at the same time. The dreads were gone.. I started buying heels instead of sneakers. I forced myself to wear dresses and skirts. And now....... I find myself stitching in the middle of the night. Perhaps the girliest thing I've ever done in my entire life! That made me realize that there's more to life than puffing weeds at the beach. There are cute lil buttons that needs sewing too, y'know!! :))

I dunno.......you probably don't understand what I'm talking about....Ha! or the relation of the photos to the write up....it's just that.......AARRRGHHH!! I cant believe I am bloody STITCHING!!!! Hahahaahahhah!! I am just overwhelmed of how much I am hooked to this craft now and mind you, two or three years ago, I wouldn't even dare pick up a needle! This is just a ridiculous change! I now prefer to stay at home and stitch than go drinkin out with my friends! ARRRGHHH!! Tell me it's normal and it's alright! or I'm doomed! LOL! But I am happy about it. Sewing is such a stress reliever. I love it..............big time!
