Upcycled chair+DIY

Same time last year, Ondoy (killer storm) drowned the whole of Manila and this shabby looking chair was just one of it's casualties. It got soooo soaked in the mud that nobody really bothered to clean it up anymore. Until the other day, when I ransacked the storage of our apartment and decided to upcycle this poor thing a bit....gave it a nice wash....a little hand sanding and thick coat of white paint and voila!.............. i've got me a new corner chair! :)


Upcycling is just a matter of re-imagining your waste.

dreamcatcher 101

Hello! Long time no speak. Aaahhhhhh.... am on lazy, disinterested mode recently thus my lack of posts. I am mostly sleeping if not at work. Totally in rut so to speak. Arrrrrrr...

Anyways, having said that, I managed to do some craft therapy today and this is my first attempt on making a dreamcatcher. Yay! Other than boho, I also love anything of aztec origin.

Native Americans believed that a dreamcatcher changes the person's dreams. Only good dreams can pass through the center hole, through the feathers, then to the person and bad dreams get trapped in the web where they perish by daylight.

What you need basically is a ring (or anything that can be made into a ring), sinew, scissors, feathers, leather strings, beads..


The weaving part is quite tricky but it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Full isntructions can be found here and here.

Mine is hanging nicely now on my headboard. :) YAAY!
