X is the 24th letter in the alphabet. It also pertains to a LOT of things. In general usage, X symbolizes rejection, termination, "wrongness", ie. in test papers, X basically means incorrect. Booooo!
In algebra, X refers to an unknown variable in an equation. Something that is unidentifiable. Thus, the moniker Mr. X, Brand X, Mission X, etc.
It may also refer to........ Christ. Well, in the Roman Alphabet, first letter of the word “Christ” is “chi” which is represented by a symbol similar to the letter “X.” Thus the words X-mas, Xtin, Xtian.
On a lighter mood, xxx could mean kisses, ie. "xoxo, Gossip Girl" or "I love you, baby. x" See! The tiny X at the end makes the message extra special!! Speaking of Extra, x could also be referred that way. Something of added, superfluous characteristic, ie. X-factor, X-men. etc.
